The Friends of Wilson Pond invite you to become a member to support our mission and help us attain our goals.  Annual family membership is only $10.00 and is tax deductible!  All are welcome!   Please send checks to  Karen McFarland, Treasurer, at either PO Box 412, Greenville, ME 04441 (July-Oct.) or 9201 Brink Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20882 (Nov.-June).

FAST FACTS
• Lower Wilson Pond and a portion of Upper Wilson Pond are located in Greenville, the remaining portion of Upper Wilson Pond is located in Bowdoin College Grant West.

• The two ponds are connected by shallow narrows know as The Thoroughfare. 

• Some of Greenville's earliest settlers resided on a hill overlooking the Ponds. 

• The Ponds are spring fed with deepest water about  90 feet deep.

• Salmon and lake trout are the most common game fish caught.

• In early 1900's cabins were constructed by hauling building materials across the ice in winter.

• Much of the land around the ponds is and has historically been owned by paper companies.

• Logging operations still continue around the Ponds.
